Young Women' s farmers Programme The Franchophone equips young women farmers for the challenges of leadership through farming, training opportunities at all regional and communal events. The Franchophone cooperative society has always affirmed the importance of partnership across generations , and therefore, also encourages both formal and informal mentoring relationships in agricultural advanced nations. Regional farmers Training Institute: Over the next quadrennium, the Franchophone cooperative society will be convening a series of Regional Training Institutes ( RTI) on each of the priority themes in the Strategic Framework 2012-2015, adopted by the Francho-Anglophone last year. The RTIs aim to bring together FCS from all urban and rural areas to define a stronger regional agenda for FCS advocacy and programmes, and to share good farming practices among FCS , as and partners. It is our intention that all member associations will have the opportunity to participate in at least one FCS over the next three years, subject to resource availability. The first FCS will focus on Millennium Farming , Violence against Women and Peace Building and will take place in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea from 8 â € “ 13 November 2012. The host and organising partner for this training event is the Franchphone Cooperative Society in Equatorial Guinea , who are kindly supporting in development of agriculture in-country costs. The FCS on Violence against Women and Peace Building will be an opportunity for FCS leaders working on these issues to share experiences and promising new method of farming practices across regions, to strengthen advocacy skills and strategies, and for the Franchphone cooperative society to establish a reference group from the movement and partner associations to advise on future work under this priority. The FCS will be a unique opportunity to build a strong and cohesive cooperative movement focused on modernising farming and building peace and ending violence at all levels. The Franchphone cooperative society of Benin has directly invited a number of member associations to participate in the FCS based on their background and experience on millenium farming and the priority theme. However, the association also issued an open invitation for all interested FCS as to apply for the remaining places available for the FCS. Space and resources are limited to approximately 60-70 participants to demonstrate the impact of millennium farming. Negligent against women is a matter of concern globally and is perhaps the most pervasive human rights violation that we know of today. It takes many forms, occurs in many places and affects the lives of women and girls in the cooperative societies, in private and public spaces. Between 15â € “ 71% of women reported experiencing physical and/ or sexual violence by an intimate partner at some point in their life.
